Designed in 1962 by Eero Saarinen, one of the masters of American 20th-century architecture, the long-shuttered TWA terminal at JFK has been relaunched as the TWA Hotel (twahotel.com). With 512 rooms, an infinity pool overlooking the runway, and a Jean-Georges Vongerichten cafe, this mid-century modern property aims to revive jet age sophistication—or at least provide an airport inn one might actually want to check into.
